In the past blog, I wrote that we needed to come up with ways to utilize forests that fit with modern times to maintain healthy forests.
As part of the efforts, I held an International Exchange Hiking Event.

In Ogawa Town, where I live now, there are mountains called Kannokurayama(官ノ倉山)and Sekisonsan(石尊山). The elevation of the mountains is about 350 meters.
We can go to the forest that I’m managing from the mountains walking on the ridge, so we hiked to the top of the mountain, and to the forest and had lunch in the forest together.

8 people from Japan, Taiwan, China, Vietnam, Germany, and England joined us this time.
It’s not so easy to find chances to meet people from other countries or to speak English in Japan, so I want to make the forest where people can do these things too.
I’m glad that the participants enjoyed the hiking and staying in the forest!
I’m going to use the participation fee to maintain the forest.
I’ll keep seeking what kind of value we can create with this forest. 🙂
