Making Organic Vegetables by Utilizing Forest Leaves

To create good soil in a farm,

organic matter that serves as food for worms, microorganisms, and other creatures is necessary.

Currently, I am growing vegetables for myself in a small farm.

To improve the soil in my farm, I use the fallen leaves from this forest to create leaf compost, which I add to the garden.

Using a rake, I gather the fallen leaves, and then mix them with water, soil, and rice bran.

Afterward, I cover the mixture with a sheet to promote decomposition.

While it takes effort to create leaf compost,

I have noticed that my farm has been doing well since I began adding it every year.

This connection between forest maintenance and farming creates a link between the forest, people, and food.

Because of this, I want to continue making leaf compost. 🙂
